Prof. Keren Drumea
Specialization: Dr. Drumea is a Senior specialist in Medical Oncology and Radiation Therapy in the Breast Cancer Division of the Oncology Department at Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa, Israel. She is also the Head of the Oncology Day Care Unit in the Department of Oncology.
Education: Prof. Drumea graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the U.M.F. in Lasi, Romania. She completed her residency in Oncology in the Department of Oncology at Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa, Israel.
Clinical Experience: Prof. Drumea has personally conducted and contributed to a great number of noteworthy clinical trials in the field of breast cancer. She has also taught courses to medical students and oncology residents. Her greatest interests lie in the diagnosis, research, and treatment of breast cancer
Research and Academic Activities: Prof. Drumea was appointed as a research scholar in the Radiation Oncology Department of the Radiobiology Unit at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, USA., where she worked in the area of Ataxia-Telangiectasia, a mutated gene in breast cancer radiosensitivity, beginning in 1998. Between the years 2004 and 2008, she was a Research Associate for COBRE CCRD in the Translational Research in Hematology and Oncology Division at Rhode Island Hospital. In this capacity, she was awarded a grant from the United States National Institute of Health to support her translational project.
Furthermore, Prof. Drumea was appointed Assistant Professor of Medicine (research) at Warren Alpert School of Medicine, Brown University, in Providence, Rhode Island, USA, in 2007. During the same year, she was also the recipient of the Young Investigator’s Award in Basic Science at the 14th Annual Research Celebration in Providence, Rhode Island, USA. She passed the ECFMG-USMLE American Board certification as a physician in the United States and became an integral member of the breast cancer meetings and services at the same hospital.
Professional Activity: Prof. Drumea is an elected member of the New York Academy of Sciences. She is additionally a participating member of the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC).
